‘Weightlessness’ to compete in Italy

Iranian feature ‘Weightlessness’ is to compete at the 17th Salento Int'l Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian feature ‘Weightlessness’ has been set to compete at the 17th Salento International Film Festival in Italy.

‘Weightlessness’ will vie along with nine other titles in the festival’s “Feature Films” section.

Written and directed by Mehdi Fard-Qaderi, ‘Weightlessness’ narrates a feminine story.

The main events of the film takes place on a wedding night and its storyline focuses on the relationship among various women.

The film won the Black Cat Trophy for the Best Film at the “Fantasies Without Rules Competition” section of the Insolito International Horror & Fantasy Film Festival in Peru.

It also garnered the Director’s Award at the North Carolina Film Awards in the US.

‘Weightlessness’ is starring Amir-Ali Danaee, Bahareh Kian-Afshar, Nasim Adabi and Tina Pakravan.

The Salento International Film Festival is “a celebration of films and filmmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures and peoples”, according to an online submission platform.

The 17th edition of the event is scheduled for September 1-6, 2020.
